Which IDE is best for coding in c++ with JAWS?

Hi. I have a few questions for any experienced blind programers on here. I am taking a data structures course at my college. My professor uses Microsoft visual studio, but so far I have found that it doesn't play nice with JAWS. I have instead been using dev c++, but this causes problems for me when I try to compile code that my professor wrote in visual studio. Even in dev c++, it can be tricky to find the errors when compiling projects with several files. Do any of you have suggestions for getting past the wizards in studio? Are there programming tools out there that are more blind friendly, or would it just be easier to use a simple text editor and compile from the command line?
